For the last week I have not been able to get away from Matthew 12:30 which states "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters."

This could relate to so many different area's of my life. What I take away from this scripture is anything that I'm doing that is not bringing me closer to God is just taking me farther and farther away. I know it's such a simple concept but I believe it's one that my generation has gotten away from. We have all this technology and shortcuts where we can find away around anything.

But technology and shortcuts aren't getting us any closer to God. In fact I would argue the more technology that we get involved in the farther away we are drawn. Because for a lot of us technology consumes us.

A man I respected very much made this statement "We are a microwave generation. We want everything quick and easy with no work on our part." Which is probably one the truest statements that I have ever heard.

We live in a society that proclaims one thing and reacts in another.  Including myself at times. We can stand and sing "all i need is you Lord, is you Lord" but we walk to our cars and click on the iPod and we have "i wanna make love in this club." I am not at all excluding myself. But at that moment how are we gathering? How are we for God? At that moment we are against God and scattering his work. The work he just preformed in us.

When someone angers you at work. And you attack back. Scattering and against. All I'm really trying to say is in everything we do, "we" as children on the most high God, must gather.
